4. My Player Moves – Controllable Player in Godot

We will create a GODOT project with a moving PLAYER!

Make a new Game called PLAYER MOVE
Make a Scene with a at 2NODE > GAME
Make a new SEPARATE SCENE with 2D CHARACTER BODY
Add a CHILD > ANIMATEDSPRITE2d
Add ANIMATED SPRITE
Center Character
RENAME IDLE
LOOP and AUTOPLAY
ADD COLLISION BODY 2D
SAVE THIS AS PLAYER  SCENE
ADD SCRIPT to PLAYER
Use BASIC MOVEMENT TEMPLATE

Drag PLAYER into the GAME SCENE
In GAME SCENE
Create a platform for your player Create a STATIC BODY
Create a POLYGON2D
Create a COLLISION BODY 2D

Assignment

Create at least 10 platforms for your player.
Experiment with the script to change your speed and jump.
Change the player SPRITE
Add images as STATIC BODY and RIGID BODY
Add a Background

Record your player jumping from platforms.

Turn in the .avi VIDEO file
