31 – Face Animation

Use the drawings you created in project 32.
You will animate your character’s face.
You will animate the change in expression.
You will start with STATIC and choose at least THREE of your expressions, for a total of 4 different faces.
You should have at least 12 frames for each expression change. 
You should have about 48 frames when you are done.

VOCABULARY
The starting frames are called KEYFRAMES because they hold the important information.
The transitional frames will be BETWEENS or “TWEENS” because the occur between the Keyframes.

Step 1:
Open Photoshop
New > Screen > HDTV
Create a new file

Step 2:
Create a new Blank Video Layer
Set it to 12 frames.
Draw your static face, using the brush tool.

Step 3:
Go to the 12 frame and draw your next expression, this will be your ‘Key Frame”

Step 4:
Go to the 24 frame and draw your next expression, and 48 to draw your last expression.

Step 5:
Carefully go back to the beginning of your timeline and work on the creating the necessary frames between all your keyframes.

Save your file as PSD, OFTEN!!!!

When you are done save as a VIDEO FILE and turn in here.
